How To Spend 12 Hours In An Enclosed Space

I just realised that in my previous entry, I didn't mention what "secret" I had that had me on my best behavior for the whole of 5 days. If you thought it was related to my job, you are wrong! Hahaha... what happened was my dad asked me to renew my AAM card, and as I was rummaging through my bags, he said, "Better check your driving license... see when it expires..." [I think you can see where this is going...]

As it turned out... I had been driving with an expired license for more than a month. :O So after I found that out, I had to drive very carefully on the road... cos it would be just my luck that I would get into an accident when I had an expired driving license.. or in fact, no license at all because I gave it to my dad to help me to renew. :D Hehehe. Sigh... as I told Raymond, a boyfriend has to help me to do all the "manly" stuff in the relationship - send the car for servicing / repairs, in charge of licensing, deals with plumbers / contractors... I honestly don't mind doing so-called anti-feminist stuff like laundry, ironing, cooking, mending, etc. It's not anti-feminist if I actually enjoy doing those things, right? :P

Anyway, today I finally drove to Pavilion again for gym purposes... have to really make use of my "passport" membership. Right now it's ridiculous how I have a passport membership but I only wind up going to Taipan because it's so convenient. Used to go to Jaya33 at least once a week, but haven't for quite a while because of the Jaya supermarket building collapsing and causing traffic jams due to re-routes. I remember being quite gung-ho about the Jaya33 swimming pool. Told myself to swim at least once a week and I even got myself new goggles and all that jazz. Wound up swimming about 5 times? And now I don't go because I want to look fantastic in a swimsuit before I would jump into the pool. Hahaha.

So back to Pavilion... wah, I really spent the wholeeeee day there. After gym, it was shopping and more shopping!! :D There were sales everywhere, but mainly spent my time in Padini (seriously, the concept store in Pavilion is super addictive) and in sportswear stores. I can't decide whether the poke-your-eye-out psychedelic colors from the latest Nike range is something that I can like forever or am just into because it freaking catches your attention. :D I plan to get this pair of shoes after my performance bonus... if I get any... *bitter* :

Really like this series of shoes cos it's SUPER light. Like how a car of a certain build can be more "aerodynamic", I also believe the gear that you wear can make you stronger, faster, better! :P Believe the hype! There's another pink and white pair that is pretty incredible too... but can't find a picture of it for you.

Nice leh?? But anyway, that's not what I wound up with after a full day of shopping. Only these :

White long-sleeve top with ribbon ; yellow trapeze jacket (this is really nice and comfy!!!), pink knit top with sparkly neckline, pink and white stripe cardigan, "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult, blue super lightweight long pants from Reebok... sorry, the pic sucks, hence the extensive explanation. :P

I really like my white ribbon top... I saw something similar from Victoria's Secret.. of course the VS one is much sexier. ;) :

I'm super stingy lor! Last round when I went to Pavilion, I saw even more clothes that I liked, but didn't get because there was no sale. Now there's lots of sales (all my clothes that I bought today had discounts) but there were some stuff that I adored last time that I couldn't find anymore. Well, that's the way life goes, and in a way I hould be grateful, else I'll be spending even more!

Oh yeah, was supposed to keep a lookout for bridesmaid-y / chinese wedding dinner dresses, but nothing called out to me, except for one super bejewelled, be-sequinned, beaded affair from Alannah Hill. Yeah, I would totally get it if I'm willing to shell out RM2000... which I'm not. :B

Ate herbal chicken soup noodle at Food Republic. It's nice! Recommend it! That was my lunch... hahaa. For dinner I ate noodles again... pasta actually. At Pastamania! Not recommended unless you want something cheap and quick. Sigh.. there's a lot of nice restaurants in Pavilion... wish I could try them all! But this place is really not that convenient for me. RM3.20 toll to get there, and RM9 parking for the entire day, and that's only because I spent more than RM100 on a single receipt, so I could get RM6 off. Otherwise full day parking is RM15! Madness! Sigh sigh sigh...

Herbal chicken soup noodle at Food Republic... I heard their mushroom duck herbal noodle soup is great too!

Spicy chicken spagghetti at Pastamania... not awesome, but no horrendous either.

After all that satisfying shopping and fulfilling feeding frenzy, I watched 17 Again! Hahaha.. it was either that, or Terminator Salvation which a lot of people have said is not really good. Anyway, 17 Again is mostly a "let's see how talented Zac Efron" is kind of movie. He just shows off from start to the end --- his basketball skills, his basketball SPINNING skills, his dancing, his acting.. hahaha. Not that I'm complaining since I chose to watch this just to ogle. :P But the movie does have it's funny moments too, mainly thanks to Mike O'Donnell's nerdy-best-friend-turned-millionaire best friend.

They had an "Ode to Art" exhibition at Pavilion... I really like this painting! I can imagine that in my currently-not-in-existence-aside-from-in-my-mind house. Too bad it costs RM13,000. Where to find rich man to marry ah! :P

Okay... short update because all I really wanted to talk about was my driving license, hahah!

Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad Girl... You Make Me Feel So Gooooooddddd

Well hand me a walking stick, gimme my discounts cos they are callin' me a SENIOR now. A SENIOR systems analyst that is. :D :D :D Technically, I was already told that I would be promoted during my appraisal last year, but they made it all official-like today. :D Which is a good day, because this was also the day that I started work, a good 5 years ago. So, erm... party on? :D

Actually, when MrLKS (my boss's boss) called me and said that he wanted to see me and Raymond, I felt damn scared because I thought I was going to get a scolding. So now you know how much GUILT I carry around with me everyday. Haha! Actually, I was scared that it was either going to be something about the usage of Internet IDs or about enabling the USB ports ... which while I was walking up the one flight of stairs to see MrLKS, I swore that I won't do anymore. =B And then when we received our official letter of promotion instead, I laugh like a mad cow as I called Raymond a chicken for being so scared of seeing MrLKS. And he said, "Hello?!!? I wasn't the one who was walking damn slowly... I was walking ahead to face the music and when I turned around, I saw you half the office away hugging yourself." Hahaha!!

Oh, I forgot to mention that last weekend, I actually managed to catch up on a lot of reading. I read Notes from an Even Smaller Island by Neil Humphreys and The Man From Perfect by Andrea Semple. The former got quite a bit of news on it when it was first published... and although it was an alright read, I don't see what's so great about it. Maybe because I'm reading it sooooo late after it's been published, all the stuff that he wrote seems like normal common sense that any chinese in Malaysia / Singapore is well aware about... we don't need no gwailo to help us see the light. :P Some parts were downright crap though... like the ones about how aunties are to be saluted and about how decent Singaporean men are just because they supposedly didn't act like some oafish Australians who the author happened to come across. Come on lah, we are talking about an island of men which came up with the Sammyboy forums, which in case you don't know what it's about, it's better that you don't learn. Haha. There are two super disturbing things about that forum that has been imprinted onto my mind, namely :

Sharing of nude / sex pics of other half : the forum has this "point" system whereby if you share nudes of your other half, you can be "upped"... once you have loads of points, you then can access into the private forums where you can see the super scandalous nude / sex pics that OTHER members have posted. I'm not really sure about how it works because as you can imagine, I have no first hand knowledge of this stuff... but basically it's funny how even if one guy posts super ugly close-ups of his girlfriend, the rest of the forum-ers instantly echo with, "Show her tits! Show her tits!"

The number one ironic thing about this forum was when one guy who was posting really random stuff about his gf, the other guys asked him to cut to the chase and provide the 18-sx. Then he said, "I can't... my girlfriend has become very scared of me taking nudes of her ever since that Edison Chen case. If you want to blame anyone, blame Edison." And THANKFULLY there was one forumer who was smart enough to say, "No wonder she is scared... you are here now posting up uncensored pictures of her face, aren't you?" ZZZ.

The second case was about wanking into colleague's cups in the office. This one was super disturbing man! There was one whole thread about these guys who talked about how "chio" their colleagues are and when they "tak tahan", they wanked into their colleagues coffee cup / photoframe / SHOES after office hours. Freaking disturbing wei!!!!!!!!!! And there was one weirdo who boasted about wanking into an empty film container (super old school... those who only know about digital cameras can just imagine a small cylindrical tube) and then bringing it to work. When he went into the pantry with his colleague for coffee, when she had her back turned, he emptied the shit into her freshly made cup of coffee and then "enjoyed the look on her face as she drank my sperm". ASDFASDFzxckdafdi... I really hope that all this is just mad rantings and not true... but now I believe that Japanese and Singaporean men are equally perverted... hahahaa.

Anyway, back to my book reviews (how did it end up talking about forums instead... haha)... after I finished with that book, I read The Man from Perfect which is a super light, fluffy, chick lit. I totally don't dig chick lits, having read really brain-numbingly stupid ones, but this one seemed to have an interesting storyline. It's basically about this lady called Ella Holt who has bad luck with guys, and after dumping her boyfriend Rob the Slob, she wins the opportunity to be matchmade with "The Perfect Man". Basically, using SCIENCE, they will determine the 100% most suitable individual in the world for you.... and then the whole novel is about "is love predetermined? is love a science?" and something like that. Totally predictable, but there were some laugh out loud moments which made it bearable.

But a lot of unanswered stuff lah! Let's be nitpicky here... in the novel, the "scientists" came up with a database of 1 million guys, which they claim to be SUPER eligible. They are all either super successful, rich, sporty, handsome, blablabla... and then based on a questionaire that you answer, they will then narrow down the 1 million guys to about 200. Then you are hooked up to some machinery while you scan the 200 pictures, and the machine 'detects' when your body has a 'favorable' reaction to a picture. Meaning, your superficial attraction to the picture lah. Got a lot of other tests, but I think you can see the problem already from the short outline...

Basically, just because I find someone attractive, doesn't mean that the someone else will find me attractive in return right? Where got such thing lah! And the novel doesn't even explain why the Man from Perfect (so-called because the matchmaking agency is called the Perfect Agency) fell for Ella Holt... and why , if he is so perfect, he needs to go to a matchmaking agency. See, this is why I shouldn't read chick lit. I end up wasting time talking about stuff like this...

Okay, looking at the above picture --- and disregarding my uneven skintone.... do you think that those heels are high? Honestly, I don't think so... cos I distinctively remember buying them and when I tried it on I thought to myself, "Okay, this is a little lower than what I'm used to, but *sigh* this is the only pair that I found so far that's suitable for work." But after wearing it around the office for the past month or so, the random-est colleagues come up to tell me things like:
a. "Oh, you really like wearing high heels don't you!" (why never mentioned this before previously? What PROMPTED you?)
b. "Wow Leech, you've grown taller!"
c. "I want to see Leech pok-kai ... keep on wearing so high heels wan." <--- bitchy team mates

Despite all that, I still persist in wearing my heels... who cares about snippy comments like those. :P But I think I have to hang up my heels for good soon... my right toe is in a super-load of pain right now, and usually I won't care and just soldier on... but it's affecting my gym work outs. Like, a lot. Can you imagine jumping around like a frog when your toe is throbbing in pain? *sigh* For the sake of my gym classes... I gotta stop. I will take a picture of my horribly flat-feet tomorrow. Haih. And I *am* aware of how much the added height helps me in the office ok. When I came back to work on a Saturday and I was hopping around in my slippers, I thought that I had become Liliputian in size because everything looked so much bigger. When I went to the pantry for tea, I almost couldn't reach the sugar on the top shelf. T____T But this is a problem with the office fixtures because I really don't consider myself that short whut... hmph.
